Apple sees a huge rise in it’s iMac Pro customers
December 14 2017 – Apple has recently seen an increasing number of customers for its latest iMac Pro because of the devices’ amazing performance in completing challenging tasks like medical imaging and even 3D rendering. However, not every configuration of the IMac Pro is currently available in the market for purchase. There are a range of options available for customers, besides the two higher-core processors.
So currently, a customer can purchase the 8 or 10 core Intel Xeon W versions that come with a 5K retina display. The The 8 core versions come with a speed of 3.2GHz and 10-core versions offer a high speed of 4.5GHz, which supports hyper threading. These versions also have an expandable memory of upto 128GB and come with an upgradeable Vega 64 advanced graphics card. The price tag of this impressive hardware is $6,299 CAD, which seems to be reasonable for buyers in the medical and professional industries.
The FCC has officially ended net neutrality
December 14 2017 – The rules that prevented internet service providers from manipulating content that consumers could view online have now been removed by the Republican-owned Federal Communications Commission. Due to this move, internet providers can now be in control over what content or apps their consumers can view, after announcing it publicly of course.
Also, with these new rules the internet providers can potentially block consumers from accessing apps or online services provided by their competitors. However, supporters of net neutrality will probably dispute and even sue the FCC’s new rule in order to restore the old one that allowed anyone the freedom to view any type of information or content online.
Hong-Kong based company to create proximity-activated IoT Hotspots
December 15 2017 – A Hong-Kong based company called Moeco has partnered with a voice and chat app called Yzerchat to create a huge IoT network by just using other people’s phones. Moeco had decided to try out this service in Dubai which is where Yzerchat is based. When Yzerchat releases a version that has the Moeco library installed, all Bluetooth LE enabled devices will turn into hotspots.
Moeco has stated that this service will help reduce IoT costs by over 30 times thus providing businesses in various industries like transportation, retail, infrastructure, etc. There is an estimated 2.5 Quintillion bytes of data that has already been generated and some of it maybe unused. Moeco will help solve this problem of unused data with their new venture to decentralize the internet.
