While Smiley’s Buffet and Event Center has been filling the tummies of light and hearty eaters from Saskatoon and area since 1983, their digital counterpart was failing to deliver for the visual hunger of their clients. Whether you just want to stop by for a bite to eat, or need to book a private banquet room for a celebration or meeting, or require a caterer for a special occasion, Smiley’s fully licensed dining facility is where to be! They pride themselves on their fast and friendly service, superior food quality and selection, and competitive pricing.
Web Design Project
Smiley’s key goals in this project were to redefine their online presence and identity, to provide a more user-friendly experience that showcases both their food selection and facilities, and to allow for the website to function on a variety of devices.
Redesign
Since Smiley’s already had an online identity, we started the design process by examining their current website, their future goals, and began to brainstorm alternative designs. After some back and forth with Smiley’s, the revamp of their website design was approved–which you can see online today here! Increased User-Friendliness
Smiley’s requested the addition of two features to better serve their audience and highlight their services. Not only did we add an updated catering function that allows users to easily navigate, select items, and complete their catering order, but we also added a large image gallery to emphasize all of their superior food offerings.
Responsive
Another crucial aspect of the redesign was the implementation of responsive design. The optimization of Smiley’s website allows its users to view the best quality website regardless of their screen size–whether on desktop computers or mobile devices and whether at home or on the go!
