Saskatoon’s Arts & Convention Centre, TCU Place is a leader in promoting and delivering local, national, and international experiences in arts, culture, conventions, and special events. A few years ago, we completely overhauled TCU Place website, making their site completely mobile-friendly, more administrator friendly, as well as more user-friendly!
While TCU Place still loves the functionality and design of their website, they decided to draw the curtain on their dated website branding. Their goal in this website refresh was to update their online presence to reflect their latest branding initiatives.
To ensure consistent branding across all channels, TCU Place cued 2 Web Design to modernize and polish their identity online by painting the front stage black and gold.
In addition to transforming the front stage of the TCU Place website, we also did a bit of remodeling backstage, so to speak.
Flexible Content Management System
The biggest change we made backstage, or to the custom content management system was increase functionality and flexibility to allow website administrators to better manage various areas.
For example, we updated the Contact List on the Contact page from an old school table to a new dynamic component where you can easily add in new members and new categories. This new Contact List is also more mobile-friendly as tables do not function properly with responsive design.
We also gave them the ability to add featured sections, such as the featured events area on the home page. We also enabled more page editing features and transformed their standard blue text links on their website into snazzy clickable call-to-action (CTA) buttons.
One main component addition that we made for TCU Place is embedding Testimonials since social proof is as important these days as responsive design. On the front-end of the website, the testimonials will display randomly within a set location. In the backend, the admin has the ability to update the testimonials individually.
Head on over to the newly redesigned TCU Place website and don’t forget to let us know how you think we did!
