Facebook Introduces Live 360
Dec. 12, 2016 – Facebook announces Live 360, a new way to transport people into a fully immersive experience of what’s really happening. So far this feature is available to a select number of pages, such as National Geographic, who is launched this live today at 3pm ET.
While we will have to wait until 2017 to see this feature, what a blast it is going to be when we do get it!
Twitter Releases Pro Tip and Top Hashtags for NYE
Dec. 12, 2016 – Twitter shares a some hashtags they predict will be trending this New Years Eve. More interesting to note is the fact that they state “Pro tip: Although it may be tempting to add a lot of hashtags to your Tweets, we recommend using no more than three hashtags per Tweet.”

Netflix Kills It With This IG Marketing Campaign
Dec. 10, 206 – Netflix launches stunning marketing campaign for their new show The OA. I kid you NOT when I say it is stunning. Check it out. Over 100 video and photo posts are magically combined into one large grid format collage that’s telling some sort of story about, the unknown, this new series.

Facebook Launches Metrics FYI Series
Dec. 8, 2016 – Facebook creates a channel for regular updates on metrics performance and changes on their platform as an attempt to be transparent. Google Analytics Referrer Spam Wrecking Data
Dec. 8, 2016 – MarketingLand and others, including ourselves at here at 2 Web, have noticed an influx of junk and spammy referring traffic in our Google Analytics as of late. It just makes me happy inside that people are actually looking at their analytics data and questioning it!
It is a pretty big issue for brands that use the data from Google Analytics, but luckily there are a few things you can do about it, such as setting up filters, either by yourself or ask your website providers to help you out with it.
YouTube Showcases Most Engaging Ads of 2016
Dec. 7, 2016 – YouTube announces the top 10 ads of 2016 for our viewing pleasure and marketing inspiration. Topping the charts are brands such as Knorr, Nike, Samsung, and others… like Puppymonkeybaby by Mountain Dew. (Is anyone else as repulsed as I am by this?)
They also state that “Mobile proved to be a key platform for viewers again this year. In fact, across the five Super Bowl ads on our Year-End Leaderboard, 81 percent of watch time came from mobile devices, with over 205 million combined mobile views.”
