New Funky Facebook Messenger

Mar. 9, 2017 – Facebook has rolled out Messenger Day globally on Android and iOS. Similar to the Stories concept, the Messenger day lets you share funky posts using multiple filters for a day.

How can you start using it?

• First update your messenger app to the latest version
• Open the app, and tap on the camera highlighted with a sun to start using this feature
• Take a picture or a video and embellish it with text, emoticons and filters
• Then choose the person or group you would like to Share it with. It will only last for a day.

Pin Ideas and Products Anywhere on the Web Using Pinterest’s Browser Button

Mar. 6, 2017 – Pinterest has expanded its visual discovery technology to the web at large. With the new Pinterest browser button, you can now easily search the related pins by clicking any image on any website.

The best aspect of this feature is that you can zoom the image to search a specific part of the picture. Now that is certainly something very unique.

Pinterest’s Image Search is Now Live!

Back in Ep 20, we announced that Pinterest was rolling out new ways to discover things. I finally noticed in my app this weekend that I could search by image. It is pretty intuitive and exciting. For my minty strawberry-lime water, it suggested tons of relevant and interesting things such as watermelon, strawberries, drinks, cocktails (come on Pinterest – not at work!? ) smoothies, lemonade, and recipe.

Twitter is Much Safer Now

Mar. 1, 2017 – Twitter introduced safety updates to reduce abusive content. The new algorithm will identify the accounts with abusive content and limit their functions.

You will also see some new filtering options, so you can control the kind of content you see. In fact, there will be a lot more transparency and openness in the reporting process.

Google Introduces ‘New Hangout’

Mar. 9, 2017 – Google has enhanced the Hangout, focusing on two experiences that help bring teams together and keep work moving forward: Hangouts Meet and Hangouts Chat.

Hangouts Meet

A new video meeting experience, which can run 30-person video conferences smoothly. You need no account, plugin or download to get started with it. It even lets you send an email invite, which gets added to the Google Calendar for easy management.

Hangouts Chat

A communication app for teams. You can now send a direct message via hangout. Its intention is to make sharing work and discussions much easier.

So, let’s just say, I’m going to have a busy week with so much to try 😉
